I keep coming back to the St. George campus. Knox College first, almost always. The cloister there is a covered stone arcade wrapped around a lawn, and it keeps the light soft and even, no matter how harsh the day is. The symmetry does half the composition for me. From there it is a short walk to University College's quad, then out to King's College Circle for the wide frames, Convocation Hall's dome on one side and the CN Tower rising past the rooflines.

Late afternoon is the light I want. Around 3 PM in early October the sun hits the eastern facades and carves shadow into the arches. October is the month if you can only pick one. The ivy on Knox turns orange and the walkways fill with fallen leaves. Mornings are the quiet option if you want the courtyards to yourselves.

One session here stays with me. Preet and Roxana arrived with red heart balloons and their goldendoodle in a full tuxedo. Every time they kissed, the dog trotted into the frame like he knew exactly where to stand. I just kept shooting. You do not interrupt timing like that.

A few practical notes. The courtyards and buildings sit close together, so the day moves at a walking pace. Weekends are calmer than weekdays in term, and parking runs about $10 on a weekend. Some indoor and restricted areas need permission, so I plan the route around whatever is open. And if you met here, like Priyanka and Saurav did, the campus carries a meaning no rented backdrop ever will.
